Life is good. I have challenges, but overall, I'm enjoying life.
I had a very good first day at my boat building composites class, and the scrambling class with the Mountaineers has been insightful. I'm worried that I am not in fit enough for scrambling. I was huffing over a hill, I can't imagine going up a mountain. I don't know if I can do this shit!
Among the Mountaineers, it's hard for me to relate to people. People are perfect, rich, and incredibly fit. It's really annoying.
It's funny, I like the Spanish speakers at Dirt Corps more than the Mountaineering types. When Itzel offered me a McDonald's meal, it was one sweet gesture of friendship. Though it did hurt my gums for days. When Ileana brought me a cake for my Birthday, and I won't lie, I nearly cried from joy. As time progresses, I'm one of the only monolingual people left at Dirt Corps, and my inability to speak Spanish makes me feel left out. Katherine is going to take a Spanish class at Casa Latina, and I'm wondering if I should follow her. However, I'm so spread out. I'm not earning enough, I'm out of shape, and I'm constantly failing to learn-- I don't know if added classes is going to make my life easier. I need to find ways to relax, unwind and communicate.
I should invest $200 into Spanish classes. However, I just want to Salsa....Maybe I'll invite Katherine to Salsa dance with me?
I've been really obsessed with Duolingo and have been practicing nighly. However, I doubt that will get me communicating. Mostly, I like the repetition
